I've recently been asked to write about how I came to be a romantic mystery writer.

Guess it goes back to my childhood.  Growing up with 3 sisters and one brother close to my age- all big time 'daytime TV viewers. Every day around 1PM Perry Mason was on. After watching him, we would simulate his courtroom antics.  My brother, Phil would always be the Mr. Mason, my youngest sister Donna would be the 'judge'.  She was great at hitting a small hammer on a book yelling out "Order in the court!".  Getting her to stop yelling it out was a challenge.  Kay and Sandy would take turns being  Mr. Mason's client and investigator.  I was inevitably the guilty ex-wife of the deceased.

After awhile we started invent our own mysteries to solve- and I really never out grew that.   When we were'nt creating our own scary stories I was usually reading.  I gravitated from 'romance' to mysteries- so it only seemed natural to combine the two...

Just wanted to shout out to someone that not only have I written some books, but I am courageously putting them out there to be read… scrutinized … and *dread!* criticized!
When I first decided to 'put them out there' I have to admit that it gave me a thrill.  A thrill that was quickly replaced by a chill!
But I haven't had much time to dwell on that.  The road to print has been longer and darker and windier (twisted is a better word!) than I ever imagined!
I naively believed that the work was behind me.  The blood, sweat and tears of writing.  The months of no sleep, while producing a 'child' of sorts.
I thought, getting it from my computer to your eyes was just a hop, skip and jump away.
Well, boy was I was wrong!
But I'm not here to complain.  I am here to rejoice!
I am on the home stretch to getting my book in print!!!
I've edited, and re-edited (with the help of 2 of my dear sisters ) and then I had to re-edit yet again, when I accidentally copied and pasted over the edited book...AAARRGGG!
Anyway, so now  having fixed it- I say that so casually- when actucally it took a few days!  And then off to the publisher it went, and then I was able to order a 'proof' book!
For those that don't understand the excitment here...
A 'proof book' is the book!  yes the book.  It will arive any minute and will look exactly like the book that will be available on amazon.com and my website!  Of course, it will need to be looked over with a fine tooth comb and correct any found errors.  But in a day or so-it will be here.
Then it is proof read, and re-read and edit again if necessary- which I'm guessing it will be- based on my track record. *groan*
Also, I still need to get some more 'reviews' back, from people who've agreed to read and write a short 1-5 line review (for which they will be generously paid with a free -autographed, no less- book)
So if you are one of those who are still reading it and trying to find something nice to say- there is still time to get your view and name in my book.
And once I insert the reviews and do another quick once over.... then I can click the button that says PUBLISH and my book will be out there!!!  Which gives me a thrill like no other!.. along with that CHILL!!! .....  and SECRET ON COBB MOUNTAIN will be available on amazon.com  as well as THIS website :
